On November 1st, 1800, with the house not quite finished, the nation’s second President, John Adams, moved into The White House just a few months before his term ended. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., The White House is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world and is visited by more than 1.5 million people annually.
